Is a personal travel planner for me?
A travel planner is invaluable for travelers that want to go on a vacation but don’t have the time or don’t want to spend the time to do all the research for the trip. Of course, the internet is at your fingertips and you have likely seen many hundreds of posts about a particular area or destination. The people posting don’t know you. They don’t tell you, it takes a hundred steps to walk up and down to that secluded beach, or that spectacular hotel is booked out for 3 years, etc.
A travel planner will customize a travel itinerary for you according to your personal preferences and limitations if any. A travel planner will also take into account your budget and save you time and money in organizing the details of your trip. We will give you direct links to book yourself which gives you flexibility and the assurance of what you’re spending. Or we can do the bookings for you.
Do you offer refunds?
All payments are final with all Land and Cuba packages – at whichever point the cancellation is made (whether it be after the deposit is made or after the full payment is made). With any Cruise package, it depends on the cruise line as to what they offer as a refund at the point of cancellation. If you select the Cruise and Land package, the Land portion of the package is non-refundable at whichever point the cancellation is made (whether it be after the deposit is made or after the full payment is made). If any bookings with a supplier or cruise line have been made, that portion of the refund is subject to the terms set out by the supplier or cruise line.
However, if you must cancel a trip, we will try to work out an amicable resolution on a future booking with Carry On Travel Planner, LLC.
What if my flight is cancelled?
What travel documents do I need?
Is it legal for Americans to travel to Cuba?
Yes, you can travel to Cuba legally and easily. There are 12 US Travel Licenses that allow Americans to visit Cuba. The license “Support for the Cuban People” is in accordance with 31CFR 515.574 published by OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control). This does not require a pre-approval. It means that each traveler must engage in a full-time schedule of activities that enhance contact with the Cuban people and essentially support their privately-owned businesses. The US State Department publishes a list of hotels, for example, that you are prohibited to lodge at under this license. Cuba travel can be done easily if you have a proper itinerary and schedule booked ahead of time. It’s not the kind of place you can DIY. We have partnered with experienced guides in Cuba that understand the laws explicitly and will ensure compliance.
How do I pay for your service?
A travel agreement and invoice will be emailed to you. We accept Zelle, Apple Pay, Cash App Pay, ACH bank transfer or major credit cards.
What if I only need help planning a portion of my trip?
How does the travel planning process go?
Once you’ve combed through our website and have an overview of our different packages, you will fill out the travel questionnaire. When we’ve received your answers to the questions, we will schedule a 15 minute video chat or call so we can gather your specific needs and inform you of the services we can offer.
If you would like to proceed, we will schedule a follow-up consultation and obtain more specific details so we can make sure we customize your trip to your style and taste. We will present you with a Travel Agreement and a quote for the package you choose.
If you choose the “I’ll Carry On” package we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to commence planning. The final payment is due just prior to us providing you the completed travel itinerary. All payments are final.
If you choose the “Carry On Concierge” package we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to commence planning. The final payment for concierge service as well as any required pre-payments to suppliers is due just prior to us providing you the completed travel itinerary. All payments are final.
If you choose any of the cruise packages, the cruise lines dictate the deposit and payment requirements. However, if you choose to do any pre or post cruise daily itineraries, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit to get started planning that portion of your trip. The final payment is due just prior to us providing you the completed travel itinerary. All payments are final for daily itineraries.
If you choose the Cuba Package, this is an individualized tour package. Deposit and rate amounts will vary and will be non-refundable in most instances.
What travel insurance do you recommend?
We have partnered with Faye and Travelex Insurance Services. But you are free to utilize any carrier of your choice. If you purchase a travel insurance protection policy through our partner affiliate links, Carry On Travel Planner may receive compensation at no extra cost to you.
Can I make changes to the itinerary you provide?
What happens if my tour, excursion, event, hotel, etc. gets cancelled or changed?
As soon as Carry On Travel Planner is alerted of the change or cancellation, we will notify you. We will make every effort to make other arrangements that suit you. It’s always a good idea to purchase travel insurance (and read the fine print as to what they cover). Carry On Travel Planner cannot be held responsible for any cancellations by vendors, but we will do our best to resolve the matter.
